VHT Nu-Cast Coatings

1. Use VHT Aggressive Strip Fast Paint Remover (SP-575) to remove all dirt, rust, scale and paint. This can also be accomplished by sand blasting. Finally, clean with non-residue solvent (VHT SP-11) and allow to dry before spraying.

2. Mask areas not to be sprayed. Also protect surrounding area from overspray.

3. For best results, apply when parts, can, and ambient temperature is between 70F (21C) and 90F (35C).

4. Shake can vigorously for one minute after mixing ball rattles. Shake periodically between coats.

5. Spray object with can upright about 15 inches from the object. More thin coats are better than fewer thick coats. Apply all coats within 30minutes or wait 24 hours to apply successive coats. If paints sags or runs, you are to close or applying to heavily. VHT Engine Enamel will dry to the touch in 15-30 minutes. Dries completely overnight.

6. EXTREMELY IMPORTANT - After paint is completely air dried, it must be cured to substantially increase the durability of the finish and enhance chemical resistance. See curing for details.

7. Clear out sprayer after each use by turning can upside down and pressing spray button until no paint comes out.

8. If clogging develops, remove spray button with a twisting motion and clean. Do not stick pin or other objects in to can. Gently replace spray button with a twisting motion while top of can and spray button opening are pointing away from you.

Curing ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Off the Vehicle: Bake at 200F for 1 hour. Caution: Do not exceed the heat tolerance of least heat tolerant component.

On the Vehicle: The inherent heat of engine operation will also accomplish curing. Start the engine and run at idle for 15 minutes and let cool. Restart engine and run no more than 1 hour and again let cool. Finish is not chemical resistant until cured.
